2015 : Unique and Exceptional !

A dry and hot summer !

Summer 2015 has been exceptional, dry and hot with small precipitations at the right time. Beaujolais broke the record level in number of sunny days. The Gamay got the perfect conditions to reach maturity in healthy conditions. The first grapes were picked by August 25th, exceptionally early for the region. Now the picking is finishing for the higher elevation vineyards on hillsides. According to the vintner Laurent GAUTHIER in Morgon: “I ve never seen that in my entire life, no grapes to be sorted out or thrown away”

This year, the quality is very homogeneous in the region, the quantity of grapes is lower than average, and the clusters are small with very concentrated juice due to the drought and dry conditions in July.

2015 : A Unique Vintage

After picking, the vintners of TERROIRS ORIGINELS are now fermenting their grapes and trying to express and preserve the characteristics of each single vineyard and “terroir”.

It is still early to define the vintage 2015 but we can already say that the finished wines will have a substantial depth and fruitiness thanks to the level of maturity of the grapes. Some winemakers compare it already to 1949 or 1976 …

Until the release of 2015, you can discover and enjoy our Crus vintage 2014, our aging and premium wines are released this fall after one year aging in order to reveal all their complexity.
