The small village of Chénas (550 souls) is the only one to produce 2 Grands Vins de la Côte Beaujolaise in its commune. Cru Chénas, the rarest and most confidential, and Cru Moulin à Vent, the most prestigious. This cuvée comes from a 50-year-old vine planted in high density at the ideal altitude of 250 meters. The plot faces north on a stony clay soil at a place called "Les Desroches". The only grape variety used to make this vintage is Gamay Noir with white juice, each foot produces only 50 centilitres.
