The vineyards of Chénas are said to date back to 1316, when Philip the Long cleared away oak trees to plant vines. A few years later, Chénas could be found in all the cellars of King Louis XIII. Renowned as the ‘rarest’ of the Beaujolais crus, I am in turn proud to be able to cultivate these vines that are steeped in history. At the end of the road, ‘En Rémont’ is a preserved and intimate terroir.
